OK, well if you have noticed, there is a small button at the bottom of your 
Cubase screen at left. Press that, and a box will open to the left where there 
are certain boxes ti fill in. One of them is labelled "Bank".. Mark the track 
you want to change patch for, and then type in the bank number in the box, 
then select your patch (if you press the mouse button on the "Program" box, 
a patch menu will show). Now you should read for example "7169" in the 
bank box and "BritePiano"  in the patch box.. Move the selections to the 
selected track permanently by pressing CTRL-F (Dont remember this 
command name, but it is also on the "Edit menu") The boxes clear, and the 
change happens as you start your song. All this is also in the manual...
