You told things from your perspective and i told from my perspective. That's all. There is nothing right or wrong with that. I feel Linux is designed for hackers and those with a hacker mindset. I am not saying that others cannot use . In fact in lots of places where it is used it has no hacker perspective to it. For example in hundred or thousands of server in DC of biggies i dont think anyone would actaully log in and dig the code. Though they do that sometimes for debugging some issue. But that rarely happens and it is only specific to the task in hand. So what i am saying is for a hacker (which i don't mean cracker or malicious intent people) will use it to fullest capability in the sense that they will derive joy of doing things in a unrestricted environment where they have complete access to everything they want (the source code) and the freedom that they can modify it to suit their needs. Please read about the goals of GPL that it trying to achieve. Hence it is clear that the community which RMS and others refer are hackers. It is tuned for hackers. I dont think a layman end user who are like windows kind of environment would enjoy the ability to read the source code and appreciate it or tweak it. And more over he wont like to see the configuration options are plain text files. He would like to see it as a radio button and check boxes and such stuff. So what do you conclude ? What is your thoughts ? Do you agree ? with regards, ashwin
