Pity about the tower! We're fortunate in that the Jurby tower has been registered. Nearby Andreas is said to be there but derelict.

Definitely Honiley (ex-WWII RAF). Was used by 605 Squadron (night fighters) 1941 onwards. Aprox 4DME on the approach to 33. Was owned by the (non-defunct) Lucas organization and was used for many years by Girling as a vehicle/brake test track. No idea of its present ownership/usage tho' it could be TRW Automotive Ltd. As bones has said, the Honiley VOR is situated within the old airfield boundary. Off for a look at Google Earth. I'd not heard of a Honiley field before. Was it wartime, though it isn't the usual WWII style of layout? Turning left base towards the 33 localiser, at 7DME, I spotted a disused airfield, single runway about East West, clearly with surface removed. Any ideas? Gerry Winskill
