It's accessed from outside the airfield, looking at first like a circular dispersal stand but clearly a VOR.

Probably Honiley, because a check on the FSX GPS showed the Honiley
intersection to be about there. Off for a look at Google Earth. I'd not
heard of a Honiley field before. Was it wartime, though it isn't
the usual WWII style of layout?

I've just been flying a circuit at Birmingham. Turning left base
towards the 33 localiser, at 7DME, I spotted a disused airfield, single
runway about East West, clearly with surface removed. Any ideas?
