My Free agent Goflex external drive is usb3 15 times faster than usb2 tom From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fossil Sent: 03 August 2011 01:41 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Rebuild Most of the important software is now running and most have been hassle free. Hardware generally seems to have worked on plugging in with W7 grabbing the correct updates for each unit - I've hardly touched any installation disks. The only two items not working yet are the Logitech Videocam 5000 (no W7 drivers) and the scanner. I'll dump the webcam as I can't remember why I got it. I think the scanner may be OK once I replace the Firewire cable with USB2. The mobo comes with two USB3 sockets but I suspect it is ahead of its time just yet. With things going well so far I'll let the system settle down for a few days and have a break from endless installation programs. When I recover I'll start digging out the endless FS disks lying around and see what the next steps are. My intention is to start off with FS2004 installed as I am familiar with that and have lots of payware scenery and aircraft for it. Then it will be fun trying to dig out the stick, pedals, Track IR and Go Flight units to see if they remember how to work. bones bones@xxxxxxx http://woodair.net
