No - the C17 is a replacement for the aging C141 and C5 fleets.
Standlake is actually only 5nm from Brize Norton and on the downwind leg. It
is also 5nm from Odiham and 13nm from Fairford. The Brize zone is very busy
airspace.

Wondered if it was a C17, query a replacement for the aging C130 Hercules??
At least 8 - 10 of these overflew through out the day from early am to pm.
Re Standlake, Lincoln Farm Park is located central, camping and caravanning
site. Was there for 5 nights.
Was also another AC at times, will post that for ID when I find the file.
RAF Fairford is also a few miles SE of Brize. Wondered if that was the other
destination.
