n, I suggest you reinstall JAWS 10 from the CD or source executable. You should be allowed the option of remove, modify, or repair. Suggest repair. If that doesn't work, call FS and get their tech support on the line. I deleted default.jsf file in user folder and reset voice speeds in Jaws 10. It aws still does not come up whne on booting. I'll just wait for next Jaws update. Anyone know when? If you have JAWS 10 active (check your Help/About dialog) then close and reopen and make sure that the "Automatic start" is still checked. I can't see why anything else at that point could cause that version of JAWS to not load on reboot. In other words, perhaps you're rebooting with a different version of JAWS that is not set to automatically load. I might uninstall Jaws10 and reinstall. It is not a big deal because all my hot keys work for Jaws 7.1 through Jaws10. I'll let you know the outcome if I uninstall. Well at the time of my typo I just turned off machine because I did not know what windows+l did. My problem is that Jaws will not come up after rebooting. Any ideas? Thanks, Ann ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Carlson To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, February 01, 2009 12:52 AM Subject: Re: windows+ l keystroke Ann, Have you been able to resolve? I see you've been given several different instructions. If you're running with a password requiring you to start Windows, then after Windows+L you'll need to enter your password to unlock. If you are working in an environment where the network is managed by a server then you'll usually be prompted to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to initiate the password entry process. However most individual computers don't have this nuance. Simply put, unless you have a password, just hit enter and you'll be back in your desktop. BTW Windows+U is the utility manager and narrator usually comes up, but it is not the panacea for Windows+L. Also Windows +L is not a toggle for Windows+L. I was forced to reboot. I did not know what this key was so is there a way to unloc the keyboard, like shift+windows+l? Also as a result of my typo, when I reboot JFW10 in Windows XP will no longer automatically come up after rebooting. I went into Jaws window and box is checked. Any ideas?
