I think I was just stating an opinion. I have only used one service, I have never used Send Space. Sorry if I cause confusion.

Katherine, I'm sorry, but I don't understand. I recommended SendSpace, a service I've found not very hard to learn to use, not hard at all. And at least with SendSpace, you aren't sending that file directly to someone. I don't knowwhat you're describing. SendSpace is, I think, like most of these services. What you're doing is uploading a file to their server. Then you provide youremail address and, if you wish, email addresses of people you want to be able to download the file. As soon as your file is uploaded to the service, an email is sent to youand, if you wish, to others whose addresses you've provided, announcing thatthe file is there for the taking and conveniently providing an active linkthat will take you right to the page where you just go to the download link and press Enter and perform the usual download procedure, That is all there is to it. If you don't know the addresses of the people you'd like to notifyabout the upload (this isn't your email program, so it won't fill in their addresses if you just start typing their names), then that's okay, becausewhen you receive your notice of the upload's availability with the link, youjust forward that email to whoever you wish to know that the file is now available. One friend three people, whatever. It's really not very difficult, if you take a little time to learn how tonavigate the function. As I said, I'm not familiar with a service that sends files directly to anyone for you, as if it were a substitution for email. Inever heard of such a thing, even though maybe there's a service like that.So far as I understand, this type of service is intended as a way totransfer files, especially large ones, by putting them online *rather* thantrying to email them. Have I misunderstood your message? If so, please explain. Thanks.----- Original Message ----- From: "Katherine Schulz" <katherineschulz6266@xxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2008 5:43 AM Subject: Re: what is a free place to send large files to someone? A friend told me that he thought Sendthisfile was much easier to use. He also used Yousendit but decided that Sendthisfile was better. I've only tried that one and the person didn't receive the file. As you might expect, you do have to spend a little time exploring the main page so you know how to skip around it using your various keyboard commands, and you have to learn how to do the upload correctly, again taking particular care because of Jaws, but it's quite doable and becomes easy once you're familiar with it.----- Original Message ----- From: "Katherine Schulz" <katherineschulz6266@xxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 02, 2008 8:43 AM Subject: Re: what is a free place to send large files to someone? That means "a magician," more or less.I may register and try this out, just to see if one of your points happensto be a practical advantage for me. Allan, I'm a pretty satisfied user of SendSpace, but I use it conventionally, just uploading and downloading files the regular way, and I haven't had much difficulty doing those things. But I'm curious to know what is different about using this Wizard? Does it make the whole procedure of downloading or uploading a lot simpler, than it already seems to me? thanks. donwlading uupldoaconvenitonally, convenitonally,convenitonally,covnentionally,----- Original Message ----- From: "Allan Wong" <allan.wkf@xxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 4:16 PM Subject: Re: what is a free place to send large files to someone? try sendspace.com and they have a sendspace vizard which is 99.99% accessible for most screen reader. we work closely with their developer to have this vizard accessible, try it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warmest Regards, Allan Wong----- Original Message ----- From: francisTo: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: jfw free lists Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 04:45 Subject: what is a free place to send large files to someone?
