i I agree I had to stopp using msn for e-mail because of the verification. I don't care for the audio file. in fact I have nothing but trouble with it ande so I just gave up on it.

Hi again. Although I can appreciate what Bruce says with regard to the difficulty faced by Freedom Scientific in tackling the problem it is one that must be addressed if blind users are not to be precluded from using the increasing number of websites employing the technology. Given Microsoft's professed interest in accessibility, not to mention legal requirements placed on service providers both here in the United Kingdom and equally, if not more so in the US they have a duty to ensure that services are equally available to all. The means whereby they achieve that, whether by altering the verification proceedure in some way, or whatever is for them, but address it they must. By "they" I don't necessarily mean Freedom Scientific. In the final event it may need input from both Freedom Scientific, MSN, Microsoft and whoever else, but it's a problem that cannot be ignored.

Short of including OCR software in JAWS that is designed to thwart systems designed to thwart OCR, there's nothing FS can do.

Hi everybody. Does anyone know if Freedom Scientific has any plans to address the problem of verification graphics? Initially it was just Yahoo and msn that were using them, but since I've noticed more and more sites using the same thing. The text you've got to copy into the edit box is written in a graphic, which Jaws can't see, so without sighted help it's impossible to do. Granted, in some cases they provide an audio version, but I've always found it unintelligible. It would be a lot easier if Jaws were able to see the text written in the graphic so it could be copied into the edit box.
Hope someone's got an answer,
John.
