selecting nonadjacent ranges in Excel

Hello, all,
My name is Shanda, and I've been a JAWS user since sometime around
version 3.7--a bit before that release, but I can't pinpoint a date.
Most of what I know about JAWS, I taught myself--broke down and used a
couple of the basic training files a few weeks ago to deal with Office
2007 stuff.
Anyway, I'm running Windows XP Home on an Asus netbook with JAWS 12
and MS Office 2007 professional.
I have some limited experience with Excel, but I'm now in a computer
class which is entirely concerned with Excel 2007.
I need to know how to select a range of data when that range is, say,
A1:A5;F1:G5
I read some older messages that suggested using the Go To function
or F5, and that worked for selecting two rows of data but I couldn't
figure out how to get it to select the range I put above. Perhaps my
syntax is wrong...
  any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Shanda
