this is the sort of tidbits you will get in the forthcoming audio course,
JFW and the Feal Word Web which is now in production.
To reply to a message, hit the reply button. I find that sometimes I am
obligated to left-click on the button; hitting enter does not work. This
seems to be the first time per session I want to access it.

Once in the reply screen, with forms mode off, hit H for heading. then down
arrow. There will be one link and one line of text. The two lines are
"plain text" and "color and graphics." the one that is not a link is the
choice currently in effect. For easiest results, if plain text is not in
effect, hit enter on that link. then hit F to get to the to: field and go
from there. you will easily find the original message text as an edit field.

If for some reason you want to send an html message, you can do so. Color
and graphics will be in effect. First, hit insert-V and then i and ensure
that inline frames are shown. They are seldom necessary, but in this
instance, if they are not shown, you can't see or edit the message.

Once you have exited the verbosity dialog, (and if you are going to do this
often, and if your default is not to show inline frames, then you will
actually want to personalize the page with shift-insert-v,) use f to get to
the subject line and hit enter to turn forms mode on. Now tab. You will
most likely hear 'frame,' and will not be able to up and down arrow through
the original message text, but if you use left and right arrows, or augment
them with the ctrl key, you can examine it painstakingly. You can use
ctrl+a to select it for deletion. You can always examine your creation in
the frame with forms mode off.

Above that frame are links to set various html options. Some of them yield
no feedback, such as attempting to change font size. These are OnMouseOver
elements, and I suspect that hovering the mouse over them causes a change
even though JFW reports that no page change occurs. Clicking on other
links in that series causes a new frame to open. For instance, if you want
to build a list, you can left-click on the type of list you want to open.

As you can see, by far the preferred choice for most of us will be to
ensure that plain text is in effect when we reply.
