I guess you could play around with the preferences and come up with
something distinctive. Seems I've usually seen the original text
enclosed in either greater-than signs, or something similar.

To answer Judith's question, simply hit Reply, as you normally would,
but place your comments, questions, observations, whatever in the
original body text where appropriate. If a correspondent has raised a
lot of interesting points, or asked a lot of questions, it can be the
easiest way to cover them all, and gives the missive more of a
conversational feel.

Well, he said that he could not by just looking at the e-mail,
distinguished
between what he wrote and between what I replied. He mentioned that
some
settings can be made to have different colours or to have my reply
"inlined".

That's interesting. I've seen the technique you describe on several
occasions, and have even used it myself in both outlook and Juno with no
problem. What kind of trouble was your friend having?

The fact that it does cause confusion as to who wrote what is a fairly
good reason for not replying in this manner. Just use Control r to open
the mesage and type in your reply but reference the issues raised in the
original message to make it clear what you are responding to.

Cheers

Subject: replying to an e-mail

Hi Members

I am using Jaws (latest update) and Outlook 2000.

I please would like to know how to do the following:

When receiving an e-mail, I want to reply to the e-mail, but I want my
reply
to be such that I can type my reply to each issue directly in the
sender's
e-mail - after the relevant sentence/paragraph.

I tried this last night by going to "actions"; to "reply" and could then
indeed write inside the received e-mail.

However the person (had problems to "see" which sentences were his and
which
sentences were my "reply".

Hope this is clear enough and that somebody can help!

Thanks.

Renette
