Hi Allan,

The problem with that is that all numbers, not just telephone numbers,
would be read as single digits. With the first 2 builds of JAWS 9, I did not
have to do anything like that and yet, all numbers were read properly,
including phone numbers.

    Thanks anyway,

    Don

  hi Don Moore,
I hope I spell your name right.

you can change how jaws read numbering in the following method:

  1. press JawsKey+number row 6 to bring out "jaws configuration manager".

  2. press ctrl+shift+d to load the default.jcf file.

  3. press alt+s for "set options" and arrow down to "text processing... and
hit enter.

  4. press tab until you hear jaws announce "number processing, controlled by
synthesizer", so the default is controlled by synth, so you arrow down to
"single digits" and finally tab to "ok button" and hit spacebar.

  5. don't forget to press ctrl+s to save your changes.

you are done. from now on, it'll read all phone number in single digits.

  hope this helps.

  Warmest Regards,

  HiNermin,

It used to sound like this:

five o four eight nine two four seven o six.

With the last two builds of JAWS 9, the same number sounds like this:

five hundred four eight hundred ninety-two four thousand seventy-six.

      Regards,

      Don
