Hi Chris,
Well, when I said "offline," I really didn't mean HTML, though of course you
can have something coded in HTML that isn't on the Web. But I meant just
like email, text files, Word docs, and that sort of thing.
But mainly, I'm glad to know that I don't have to worry about this at all
because it has to do with Skype. Which I don't use.

Hi, it's only if you install the Skype Plugin that numbers will be read with
garbage in between basically. If you install Skype, but don't include the
plugin during installation, you'll be fine. Yes I guess phone numbers, even
when read offline, will be read as garbage, however only HTML documents
would be affected, and will only affect the browser you installed the plugin
for. Hope that helps.

So this is the crucial variable. If you're running Skype, then the update
may screw up phone numbers when you find them on the Web? If you don't have
Skype, it won't bother you at all? How about offline? Is it now misreading
phone numbers if they're in an email or a text file or a Word document?

Hi, consider yourself lucky they read at all, just updated here and I can't
read phone numbers from any websites. I just get the area code. I have to
click on the number, which brings up a Skype Out box as I have it set up
like that and then get the number from there. The number is there, but JAWS
just says the area code, then a pause, then "On mouse over". Doesn't sound
much like a phone number to me.
