I have found that when encountering those long links, just read the line by character (jaws key with numvpad hit twice quickly, and you can often figure out what the link does.

Hi there,
I have came across alot of those sites that have those graphical links at the top of there web pages.
For example, here is what one of the links say from overstock.com.

mxc/auctions_tab_20051021c
If you listen, you will hear the word auctions in the link. So by hitting enter on this link, it will take you to the auction part of their site.
Not all links have entire words in there name. Some of them only have initials. For those you might have to just investigate to see where they take you.
One feature of Jaws I use to help with this problem of graphical links is the custom labels feature.
I know this feature is available in Jaws 6 and 7, but do not know if it was available in versions before Jaws 6.
When on one of those links, for example, the auctions link I stated above.
Just hit Insert control tab.
This will bring up the custom labels dialog box.
You will be in a edit field ready to type.
Just enter the name that you want to call this link and hit enter.
For example, type auctions, then hit enter.
The next time you go over this link, instead of hearing mxc/auctions_tab_20051021c, you will hear just auctions.
It will also make it easier to find it in a links list (Insert f7).
You can then just hit the letter A until you hear auctions, then hit enter.
And the next time you come to the site, Jaws will remember what you named the links.
For more information about custom labels, just refer to Jaws help.
Hope this information has been of some help.

Hi,

Yes I've used this site. I've even purchased things off the site before too and yes it is a difficult site to navigate. If you listen to those graphical links entirely, at the end of the link name you'll hear what that actual linkis called in most cases. Once you've found and learned a couple of the main catagory links, the next time you visit the site, just do a page search using CTRL+F to go straight to that link. The only problem with that site is the way they present their navigation links. The process of bidding on auctions or purchasing wasn't a big problem. By the way months ago I emailed those guys about that problem and all I got was a can response from them with no real commitment to address the problem.

I thought I would play with
www.overstock.com
I found it more trouble than it was worth. There are so many graphical links that just speak letters. Has anyone else tried this site or sites like these? Also what is skip navigation?
