I am blown away you said that, about rebooting without warning. My dell desktop does that all the time. I did just re-install, using the symantec re-install which comes with dells. it didn't fair that well, but better then my original config. which lasted 9 months. My laptop which I just got hasn't shown that yet, but the moment I read your experience, I said, I am not the only one here.

Hello all

I have a Thinkpad X61 and it does have a Windows key. Unfortunately, Jaws cuts off the beginning of every word when using battery under vista. I have the max battery profile activated. I haven't had time to try another profile or replacing the audio drivers. I previously had a thinkpad X40 running XP, and there were no problems with Jaws 7.

Unfortunately, just be prepared to return it if things don't work correctly with Jaws. That being said, I doubt most people have my experience using other laptops.

I also have a Dell D620 for work with XP Pro and Jaws 8. It seems to work fine, excluding the fact that the machine reboots with no warning once in a while. I've only experienced this phenomenon with Dell, and that's why I am not a big fan (happens on my Dell desktop as well).

Hi, Allan. What about the joystick device that IBM/Lenovo substitutes for a mouse on its laptops? I find it gets in the way when I try to type "b" and the other keys in that area.

I would say Lenovo, HP or Dell.

Only draw back with Lenovo (Not sure for all models of it) that they do not have Windows Logo Key.

 Hi friends,

I wish to purchase a good and strong new laptop to start working Vista on it.

I'm going at least on 2GB ram, hard-disk 120GB or more, duo core 2 CPU.

I saw yesterday Acer, and I wish to ask whether someone here is using this ACER Laptop with Vista and Jaws 9?

I'm open listening to another suggestions too that may give me the same results.

I heard good things on HP laptops, LG, sonny, Lenovo.

 Many thanks in advance

 Moti
