Joy, if your mum was using your computer she may have turned on high contrast which is found in control panel. My wife is constantly doing this and it messes up my desktop every time but it is a simple matter to fix. 1. Press start menu key. 2. Hit the s key until you hear settings submenu. 3. Right arrow and you will hear control panel--press enter. 4. The first choice here is accessibility options. Press the spacebar to select this item and press enter. 5. Now, hold down control key and hit the tab key 3 times until you hear display and press enter. 6. The first setting here is a checkbox to check for high contrast. If this box is checked---uncheck it and this should solve your problem. Of course, there are other possibilities but I would try this solution as one of my first options as the jaws settings may have made the screen contrast difficult for your mum to read the on-screen text. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joy" <happyhappyjoyjoy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2005 9:58 AM Subject: Re: need help with desktop My mother was over here using my computer last night, so I have no idea what has happened. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Hebert" <roberthebert@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2005 10:27 AM Subject: Re: need help with desktop > Have you recently enlarged your font size in the display settings in control > panel?
