For the person who wanted to get a list of files from a folder to a text
file,

You can use a program called FileDir by Jamal Mazrui. It works some what
like Windows Explorer with a whole lot of extra features. You can get it
at:
http://www.EmpowermentZone.com/dirsetup.exe
This program works very well with JAWS.
In this program; I discovered that you can usa command to tag all files
(alt+. followed by control+c. Then go to your favorite editor and hit
control+v and the list of files should be pasted to the edit window. Each
file is shown with it's full path.
Note, this will give you all files in the folder without the names of any
sub folders. If you want to include the folder names; you will need to
use the tag all command (control+a.

Bill, every computer is different.
On my windows 7, office 2003 and jaws 11, the file names and all the
detail
was included. But then I have file details checked under view.
all this said, this is still awkward as you also pick up all the other
items
and graphics on the virtual viewer.
but as I said, this is the only thing I know and if there is a need for
the
info, it may be worth a try is there are no other options.

Part of the problem with doing a list this way in the vertual window is
that
many times the filenames and folder names are truncated or cut off, and I
don't know how to avoid this. My window is maximized, and it still
happens.

I do not know of any program.
but you could try using the jaws command
insert key plus alt key plus letter W
to virtualize the screen you bring up in windows explorer that show your

files and folders.
In looking at this, I note That files and folders will show up but only
28
to a page. after you virtualize the screen, you would have to use control

key plus letter A to highlight the text in this virtual window and then
use
control key plus letter C to copy the virtualized screen to the clipboard
so
you could then paste the text in notepad, wordpad or word.
Unfortunatlly you would have to do this a number of times as you only
can
get 28 items on each screen.
hope this helps but then someone may know of a program.
In any event, hopefully this post reminds us all of this little trick
Jaws
provides us with to capture any screen including any error message screens

so we can read it.
