2 reasons many are not happy with norton, the copy protection that limits
the number of machines you put it on.

plus its very slow scanning speed.

in addition its not the most speech friendly.

when you consider that corperations use it one may ask why.

first the corporate version appears more like the older norton anti virus
which was more speech friendly.
secondly the corporation version scans much faster.

so what your really buying is their second teer product when you buy the
home version.

in addition recent anti virus reviews show that other products are closeing
ground on norton and do the job almost as well.

in some areas better.
norton rated poorly for double zip files for example.

still norton is one of the top products in its field, but is it worth the
price.

first the initial cost.

if you have numerous computers then it goes up more.

then remember tech support is no longer included in the price if you need it.

lastly because its number one viruses are more apt to disable it.
they actually target norton the same way they target outlook express.

I no many that have moved away from norton for the above reasons.

one of norton strong points for blind users is its ability to remove many
viruses in windows with out going to safe mode.

realize how ever norton offers virus tools for removing viruses for free on
their web site, so you can always download the tool from their site for free
if your anti virus fails to remove the offender in windows.
