Jim, If the access provided by the untested or known to be seriously buggy released before its time version of a screen reader doesn't give you the access you n eed, then its done two disservices for you. One, you bought the thing figuring you could do a job, and you told your perspective employer that you'd have the tools to do that job. 2: it bombed, so you can't do the job and that makes you look not only incompetent but also like a liar, and makes it hard for you, much less the next blind guy who comes along and tries to get a job, with that employer to do so, because they have been once burned. And of course, the reputation of the screen reader vendor who released product like that would be justly trashed in the user community. There is clearly a middle ground between getting it perfect, which will never happen, as long as human beings are designing these complex products, and slap dashing something out the door just to say you did it. I would not like to buy a product from a vendor whose philosophy tilted towards this end of the spectrum. If you want to do a job for pay, you want to do it competently. You can't do that if the software you're using is full of bugs that render it unstable and its promised access is not reliable.
