I just noticed...`1.5 Gb of RAM should be enough, and would not affect the
ability to download and install the JAWS 12 update. Sounds like a repair is
needed for the JAWS 12.0.517 version before executing the update to JAWS
12.0.577.
Run the original file or from the CD and select repair.

Hello, all. I have a friend running windows xp service back 3 with jfw 12.
When she attempted to update jaws she received the message
"jaws cannot update due to a possible error with your original installation
file. Please repair original version and try to reinstall." She downloaded the
original from the Freedom Scientific website but she only has 1.5 Gb of ram and
the computer is six. She is going to replace it within the month so is there
any need to update jaws for a month? Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.
