Hi Rosemary, what about the verification when you join a group? Once you're
join them it's ok, but I used to browse groups and join them to see if they
were any good, and if they weren't I'd leave it and find another one. Since
they've started verification I can't do that, apart from the rare occasions
when I can get a subscribe address from google.
                     John.

Hi, John. What I did was unsubscribe from different lists with my yahoo
account. Then I re-subscribed using my verizon address. At least with outlook
express there's no varification code you have to deal with.

Hi Rosemary, the verification thing's a nuisance. More and more sites are
asking for it now. I used to be on quite a few msn and yahoo groups, but the
verification thing made it impossible.
Let me know how things go,
                        John.

Hi,John. I did change my home page to google and it does connect me to
the internet pretty fast. I also deleted my yahoo email account because they
were asking for the varification code again. Now I'm staying with google and
outlook express for good.

Hi Rosemarie, you can change your homepage easily. In internet options,
which you can either go to in control panel or in the tools menu in internet
explorer the home page address is the top item in the general menu. Just type
in the address of the page you want as your home page, in the case of google
http://www.google.com and tab down to the ok button, alternatively go to the
google page and then press the use current button, which is the second thing on
the internet options general menu. You won't be troubled by any pages you've
had as your home page in the past. The only one that internet explorer will use
is the one you've selected.
Let me know how you get on,
                            John.

Hi, John. I still got a slow connection after unchecking the search
button. Is there something else I can try? I used to have google as my home
page at one time. Is there a way to get ride of your past home page if you
don't want it anymore? Just wondering.

Hi Rosemarie, don't worry about yahoo. The toolbar you need to
change is in internet explorer. When you're in Internet Explorer just press the
alt key to take you to the menus, and cursor right to the view menu. the
toolbar submenu is the top item in the view menu. cursor down till you find the
explorer bar submenu and right cursor to open it. The top item is search. If
that says checked press the enter key to uncheck it. When you've done that
it'll be fine.
Let me know how you get on,
                                John.

Hi, John. I have a problem with yahoo which is my home page.
How do I find the tool bar to uncheck the search so I can have a faster
connection to the internet? I have DSL so i should be able to connect to the
internet pretty fast.

Hi everybody, re the post earlier today regarding the seeming
hijack of the internet explorer home page it isn't a hijacker, it's just a
changed toolbar setting. it's easily solved. I had the same thing happen to me.
All you have to do is to go to the toolbars submenu and uncheck search on the
explorer bar menu. When you've done that everything should be fine.
                                    John.
