Thanks for trying to help but I disabled the search, reset my home page to
blank , applied then OK. I closed Internet Explorer, rebooted the computer and
there it was, Simpatico/MSN.com/. The search idem remains unchecked, I didn't
change the entry in the registry though, Spybot does that, I probably should
have double checked.

I am pretty sure this is a Homepage Hijacker.

Can't tell you how disappointed I am, this has been frustrating me for weeks
now.

Hope it worked for the other chap.

Hi everybody, re the post earlier today regarding the seeming hijack of the
internet explorer home page it isn't a hijacker, it's just a changed toolbar
setting. it's easily solved. I had the same thing happen to me. All you have to
do is to go to the toolbars submenu and uncheck search on the explorer bar
menu. When you've done that everything should be fine.
                      John.
