right. I gave her other ways of loading JAWS, but should have mentioned another
way of finding the shortcut.

Patricia, inthis case, she cannot find Jaws 7.0 in her Desktop.

I would suggest going to the desktop icon, or whichever shortcut you used
to attach the keystroke (which is also located in program files) do an
alt-enter on the shortcut, and delete the key that is assigned, or try
assigning another one for the time being and then quit JAWS and see if that
works. it's happened to me once or twice and tha'ts solved my problem. or, if
worse comes to worse, which isn't even all that bad, you could do a repair on
JAWS. in the cases that I've done a repair I haven't lost any of my previously
defined settings, and the problem had usually be fixed. what it should do in
theory is take away the shortcut key and allow you to do it over again. also,
if this doesn't work, maybe make it so that JAWS is the only J icon on your
desktop, so all you would have to do is windows key m, and then j, and then
enter. or if JAWS is the only j in your programs menu you could do start menu,
j for jaws 7.0, j for the actual application, and then enter. there are many
ways of loading JAWS besides using a shorcut key, but I hope the shortcut key
does work for you.

    these are my meager suggestions.

Rodin, My version is Jaws 7. Yesterday I put a shortcut into the desk
top but the problem is it doesn't work. Oftentimes, when I boot up or my
husband dumps jaws so he can work on the machine, this shortcut which I
assigned as control shift j, doesn't work when I hit it. Any suggestions as
to how I can get jaws back with this shortcut? Thanks, Judith

Judith@, I've saw your posted very long time. May I know what version
of Jaws you want to create a short cut key? May I know also if the version of
Jaws you are trying to create a short cut is in your desktop?

        Regards,

        Roden

I quickly went into the programs file and according to that I only
have jaws 7.0 running on the computer. Judith

            Hi Judith,
You could do that, then go into your control panel and make sure
you only have one version of jaws. Dave

I have two jaws icons on my desk top. One is simply "jaws" and
the other is jaws 7.0. Since both icons have the shortcut or hotkey
combination of control/alt/j should I delete the one that is simply "jaws"?
Thanks, Judith
