There's a guy that fixes these and probably has batteries. Let me know if

  I suspect that even with a dead battery, finding a new adapter for it would 
not be an insurmountable problem. It should still work if connected to ac.

that looks like a cat5 plug on 1 end and a serial plug on the other.  I could 
try it for you but I don't have a power adapter for it.  I seem to have lost it.
