I got a script to work that will toggle through all your choices of synthesizers. So say you had eloquence, sapi 5, and TruVoice. So you had the script assigned to control 1. With each press of the keystroke, it would cycle through the three and back to eloquence. I used David's suggestion so if you pressed and held down the control key and pressed 1 twice quickly, it would go to eloquence no matter what synth you were on. Would anybody like to try it out for me? If you would write me privately at debbie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I will send it to you in the morning. I'm getting ready to get off the computer for tonight, smile. Hi Deb, Yes, the cleanest way to switch synths to the eloquence would be to put code in the AutoFinish event of Each application but I could see that getting a bit tedious. I wouldn't put any code to set synths in the default focused changed event. You might get jaws changing to eloquence unexpectedly. The other solution you could try is writing code to switch to eloquence in the default AutoStart Event. This would set the synthesiser to eloquence every time you started jaws or when you alt+tabbed out of an application. However, if it were me, and I had a toggle synth keystroke, I'd just toggle back to eloquence that way rather than trying to get jaws to do it automatically. The other thing you could do to make it completely by user choice is on the second press of the switchSynth script is to load the user's desired default synthesiser such as eloquence. Now that wouldn't be exactly automatic but it would be easy for the user and it would mean they could switch to eloquence any time they wanted to on a press of a hotkey without having to toggle through all of the synths just to get to eloquence. E.G., my hotkey to toggle synths might be JawsKey+Control+s, each time I press that key combination, I would cycle through all of available installed synthesisers. Now pressing that Jaws+Control+s twice quickly would load my default Synthesiser such as Eloquence. BTW, I'd be interested to have a look at your script. David, I got a script working to toggle through all the synthesizers. I just want to add the code to skip remote access and no speech and sapi 4 detect. But I am not sure how you would automatically have it switch back to say eloquence when you exited an application or alt tabbed away from it. It's really not a problem to just add a keystroke for eloquence, but somebody had said that is what they want to do, so I was trying, smile. Wouldn't you have to put the switch back in the auto finish of each application? I tried the auto finish of the default, but that would only be when jaws unloaded, wouldn't it? Or could you put something in the focus changed event in the default file? Any thoughts? Oh, Just reading this message, I think I know what you want. Let me see if this is right, you want the list of synthesisers to be cycled through on each press of the assigned hotkey. So if my hotkey was JawsKey+Control+s for example, you would want each press of that hotkey to cycle through the list of available synthesisers that you have installed without bringing up the listbox. Yeah, this can be done for sure. It would just mean the modification of the present Synthesiser list script. Let see what I can do.
