Dan, what you need to do is to go into your insert plus f11 system
tray icon dialogue, and look for an icon that says, windows
messenger not signed in.
If you don't see the icon, then the program is closed so you'll need
to go to your start menu, programs, and keep pressing w til you hear
windows messenger and then press enter on that.
However, if you find the icon in your system tray, press enter and a context menu will come up. press enter on the open option.
I'm using current version Jaws 7, and the copy of Windows Messenger that was on this Dell when I bought it a year ago. I can't launch the program, apparently, so I can't check for its version number. Sorry.

I'm not able to begin learning to use this with Jaws. I click on the program icon to launch it. Then I get something that tells me it's the log on window and asks me to sign in. But I don't hear "edit" or anything, and I can't tab around or find any more of a dialogue. So I just hit Enter (actually, that didn't do anything so I did that route to Jaws cursor thing that sometimes behaves like a left mouse click, and the log on window disappeared and the system tray came up, with the message Windows Messenger Not Signed In. I pressed Enter on that, and got presented once again with that inscrutable log on window.
What's happening? How do I set this baby up and activate it?
Thanks.
