Hi Dan
See, that's the thing, you were 99.9% there, you almost had it! The only thing you didn't do was hit the continue buttton and then respond to the e-mail asking you to verify your address.
So unfortunately, you'll have to start over from the beginning and go all the way through, not stopping in the middle. this process is meant to be done all in one go.
Good luck.

Chris,
thanks for the explicit directions. First of all, not to be defensive, but
I'm not a newbie and I go all over the web to do research, buy things, read
various newspapers, and a bunch of other stuff. But I happened to find this
particular registration routine frustrating.

Second, believe it or not, I actually got through most of the steps you
enumerate below, and yet wasn't able to quite finish the process. I don't
mean I couldn't get past the security thing, for instance. In fact, when
the first reading of the characters in the graphic started too quickly so
that Jaws drowned out the beginning while it notified me that I'd pressed
Enter on the audio play button, I tried another time and got a set of
characters that the voice began reading a split second later, long enough to
give Jaws a chance to shut up.

Anyway, it's late, and I'm tired, but I'll follow whatever directions you've
included for the last steps and see if I can finish this. Although I'm sort
of afraid that my registration worked, except I don't know whether to sign
in now or what. I don't want to begin the registration process all over
again for nothing.

I'll try to finish this soon and let you know howI do.

thanks,
Daniel

Hi Dan This is actually quite easy, relax my man, this is a piece of cake.

As you surf the web, you'll begin to find out that web pages aren't
always set up in what we consider to be logical. in other words, we
do have to search a bit. what you are going to be looking for is
text, so you'll want to arrow down until you hear the words "create
credentials", notice that you will hit a link that goes back to the
home page. Forget that that link even exists, don't even concern
yourself with it. From now on that link isn't even there.
Ok, so after you hear create credentials, enter your e-mail address
and password, just as you did before, along with your secret question
and answer. Make sure that these are both good and that your secret
answer is more than 5 characters like the page says.
Now we're up to the audio portion. listen to the audio and fill in
the characters just as you did before.
But now, do not go back up to the top, just arrow down a little bit
more and you'll find a continue button. if you get lost, simply hit
your b key and you'll find it. press enter on that.
On the next page, after arrowing down a bit of course, don't click
any links to go back to the home page now!
You'll be asked to confirm that all this information is correct, and
you'll most likely be asked to confirm it, I haven't filled out this
form in a while. But after you confirm this info, you should be sent
an e-mail to the address you provided asking you to verify youre-mail
address. After you receive another e-mail saying that your address
is in fact verified, you can then sign in to windows messenger and
set it up with a screen name and such. Once you sign in you won't
have any contacts. You can add these later. You'll first need to go
to alt plus t for tools, o for options. on the first tab you'll be
asked to type in your name as you'd like others to see it. this can
be your name, a nickname, anything. then go through the other options
and set things up as you'd like them to be. make sure to visit the
privacy tab andmake sure you have that set up as well, because if you
leave things at their default state, you can be seen by anyone, and
you might only like to have people who are added to your contact list
to send you messages. That's how i have mine set up, but everybody's
different so set it up like you'd like it. then press ok and then you
can start adding contacts. just go through the menus and the process
is very simple.

Hope this helps.
