If Paragraph marker toggle is CTRL+SHIFT+NumRow8, what do the other number keys
do with SHIFT+CTRL?

Hello. Tools/options. Then depending on your version of Word you will find
some checkboxes in a page specific to editing or display. There are a number of
characters there that can be displayed, or not, to your preference.
