Hi Dave,
This doesn't get rid of the grater signs, but it does make Jaws ignore them.
So, if that's good enough, here's how you do it.
when you are in outlook express, hit insert D. This opens up the dictionary
manager.
You can hit, control shift D, for the default settings, but you don't have
to.
Now, you will be on the add button. Hit enter.
Now, type the greater sign all by itself. that's shift period.
Now hit tab to replacement word, and hit the space bar.
now, tab to Ok and hit enter.
Now, you can alt F4 out of there.
When it asks if you want to save the changes, hit enter on yes.
Now, those greater than signs are still there, but Jaws skips over them as
if they were spaces.
