Hi, It took some time for friends who use the "s" (move to same element)navigation key to discover that the "s" moves to every single link using JAWS 8 instead of staying on the same link type as with JAWS 7.0 andearlier.
The "s" keystroke allows one to let's say find movie titles on a shopping site, stay within theradio stations on a large radio listing site, CD's on a shopping site without having to read the links inbetween like
"director" or "price".One stays within the item chosen to quickly move down longl ists ofthe same thing.
For me and others, when one wants to use it, the s lets one avoid 80% of unwanted links so one can easily speed through pages with hundreds of links on them.
Insert F 7 is great except there are sites where one has no idea what the first letter is orwhere names are random as in stories in newspapers or in long lists of items on shopping sites. People at FS saw the advanttage of the s on shopping sites.
I do not blame F S but this S" keystroke should be fixed as it can really save one lots of time when one really wants to avoid unwanted information and get directly to onewants.
This is like skim reading and our time is valuable. -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
