Skype Dilemma

Hey All,
When I call someone on Skype, JAWS takes a long time to respond (or maybe it's
the computer). There doesn't seem to be any delay or "stuttering" in the call
so I'm guessing it's JAWS' fault. This doesn't happen until the contact
answers the call (i.e. while ringing, I can still use my computer just fine).
But once the call is answered I can barely move around in the computer at all
until the call is hung up. What's up with this? I have a 2.8GHZ computer at
512 MB of ram so that shouldn't be the problem. Help is appreciated.
