Try QuickTime alternative.
Its very light compare to the Apple Quicktime.

Subject: Seeking Help with Apple Quicktime
Hi listers,
I need to use Apple Quicktime for a textbook on CD-ROM, and I cannot
get a handle on this app. Seems I can only access menu bar items
with the Jaws cursor, and even clicking on these doesn't seem to do
anything. While in a list view of files on the CD-ROM, I hit enter
on a file with the mov extension and the Quicktime Movie Player opens
but the file is not playing. Any help regarding this problem would
be most appreciated, as I need this book for work.
