Hi, 
This can also be turned off as I said by list admen.  The admen of the
list can set listserv to reject all attachment and force the list to use
plain text.  
At leas he can using mailman and listserv not sure how the freelist
system does it but I am pretty sure I read some where that this can bee
done.
