Problem with Word document

Hi,

I have a Word document which is an application form for a job. It's not a
form as in with checkboxes and fields etc but seems to be just typed and
with spaces where one should fill in the answers.

The problem is JAWS isn't reading it properly. For example when I cursor
down to where it says Personal Details. Then cursoring down below that I
hear "Surname", "Address" and various things like that. But say I've
cursored onto the line that says "Surname", and I cursor right or CTRL
Cursor right to get along the line to the right place to write my surname,
all JAWS says is "blank" - yet it reads "Surname" when I cursor up or down
onto that line.

The view is set to "print layout". When I set it "normal" there seems to be
nothing at all in the Personal Details section - when I cursor down after
"Personal Details" I just find a lot of blank lines according to JAWS, then
it goes on to the next section.

Can anyone explain what is happening here? I suspect it's something to do
with the way this document has been created but anyone say what? And is
there anything I can do about it so I can get to the right places to fill in
my answers?

Catherine
