Well, I remember when I called Freedom Scientific on it once asking
what xort of scripting and reclassing and such could be done and the
fellow at their tech support department said nothing could be done.
"Our screen reader doesn't work with it and, in fact, no screen reader
works with it," said he. I'm a bit of a rebel, I guess cause that's
what made me go out and download that Window Eyes Demo. Wanted to see
if they had any business making that kind of sweeping statement over
there. Now, it stands to reason that if they can be wrong about one
thing, they can be wrong about another so, who knows? Maybe something
can be done to read that screen. Does anyone know anything about just
how PowerPoint goes about displaying that text? Would, say, Internet
Explorer scripts work with it if the text is presented on the screen
the way browsers do? Does Jaws need to be told to read it with a
virtual cursor? Or, perhaps there might be a skin or something out
there that alters the way the text is displayed and, if someone
downloads it, it'll be as readable with Jaws the way Powerpoint 2003's
was. It's stuff like this that makes me wish I'd gone into computers
instead of majoring in business.
