debbie. I thought I had this problem with permitting skype solved. It still keeps saying permit and I can't seem to figure it out. If I try to add skype.exe it will say you are attempting to add a program that already has rules and if I try to remove it it won't let me. And I can't find a comfigure button.

Steve wrote me privately to give me the exact error message he was getting
with Norton blocking skype, because he said he didn't have the firewall.
"Norton internet worm protection has detected a
program such as internet phone or online gaming that is trying to access
your system. I thought this might help someone else out too. It just so
happens that this weekend I was reading some technical support notices and I
found this one. So Steve, I bet this worm protection is what is blocking
you also. Give this a try except you would choose skype from the list of
programs. Does that make sense? It also gives me an idea, I am going to
try to turn off the virtual pc cursor and see what happens with that
configure button.

Norton System Works 2005 and Norton Anti-Virus 2005 have a new feature
called Internet Worm Protection that replaces the Windows XP Service Pack 2
firewall. This feature can potentially interfere with Freedom Scientific
product activation.

Do the following to place the Freedom Scientific Activation utility on the
exclusion list for Internet Worm Protection:

1. Start Norton System Works 2005.

2. Open the Options menu and choose Norton Anti-Virus. If you are using
Norton Anti-Virus 2005, simply pressing ALT+O opens the Options dialog box.

3. Press INSERT+Z to turn off the Virtual Cursor.

4. Press the TAB key until you select Internet Worm Protection and press
ENTER.

5. Press ALT+P to choose Programs, and then press ALT+D to choose Add.

6. Press SHIFT+TAB to move to the list of folders. Press F until you select
the Freedom Scientific folder, and then press ENTER.

7. Select the Activator folder and press ENTER.

8. Select either the 1.0 or 1.1 folder, and then press ENTER.

9. Select the file FSActivate.exe and press ENTER.

10. In the combo box, select "Permit" and press ENTER.

11. Choose the OK button to close the Program Exclusion dialog box.

12. Choose the OK button again to close the Norton Anti-Virus dialog box.

The Freedom Scientific Activator should now be able to activate your
software without being blocked by the Internet Worm Protection feature.

That would be the firewall blocking access, not the antivirus.
I would have to reinstall norton to see how you allow access to a program
with the firewall, but I know one thing that drives me crazy about Norton
is
that it always has those pop up windows that you hear and they are gone
before you even can begin to look for them. You have me curious, I'll
reinstall the norton security and see if I can find where you can allow
access to a program.

I tell ya what. I have been using Norton now for a long time and I am
tired
of it. I have Norton 2005 with the updates. I use skype and Norton always
locks it up and says that I have to permit the program to run. I think you
need sighted help with this. I can't find it with the jaws cursor. I will
switch to AVG when my subscription runs out.

Hi,
Is anyone using NAV 2006?

If so, is it still accessible with jaws?

Thanks.
