There's no real way I know of getting rid of that announcement, because of the way the contact list is set up. there's your online contacts, your mobile ones and the offline ones. you can get JAWS to not speak specific parts of the tree view by pressing the right and left arrows to open and close those parts of the tree view respectively, but you can't stop JAWS from saying, outline button expanded. I even tried setting the verbocity to advanced and it still said it.
Sorry.

I'm using version 7.5 and am assuming that this applies to 7.0 as well.
One thing you could try is to press Alt C to bring up the Contacts menu.
Then scroll down to the Sort Contacts by submenu and press enter. Here
you most likely have On line/Off line checked. You can try selecting
another option in this list by pressing space bar and then hitting
enter. This should change how your contacts are viewed. It may resolve
your issue.

If you are wanting to keep your contact list set up the same without it
speaking collapsed or expanded, I'm not sure how to make that stop.
There might be a way, and then there might not. HTH.

Hello list,

I have started to use MSN Messenger 7.0 with the latest release of JAWS.

When arrowing through the contacts list, JAWS will announce if the
treview
is expanded or collapsed. For example it might say, "online (2) outline

button expanded." Is there a verbosity setting I can change or
something
else I can alter to stop JAWS from announcing this to me? Thanks in
advance...

Mark
