Hi Dale,
I'll answer the question regarding WordPerfect 8 switch. The real program name
is wpwin8.exe. So, let's try to launch WP from the command line as follows:
Step 0: Since we need some text for later, select this message and copy it to
the clipboard using Control A followed by Control C.
1 Press Windows and R keys at the same time. A Run box will appear. Silence
Jaws with Control key.
2 Type the following:
wpwin8.exe /fl
5 Check the above string with your arrow keys. There's a dot after 8, a space
before the forward slash, and fl as in Fox Lima.
6 Now, hit Enter to start WordPerfect. Wait for its blank screen. Check screen
title with Insert T.
7 Paste this message using Control V.
8 Press Control Home to go to top of document.
9 Start reading with Insert down arrow. Normally, all reading keys should work
with the PC cursor on..
If you plan to upgrade to WordPerfect 9 or 10, use the above switch with wpwin9
or wpwin10.
Hope this will help.
Adam

Subject: Looking for help with WordPerfect.

  Good evening list,

I have WordPerfect 8, XP Pro and Jaws 6. I have not really used =
WordPerfect much since acquiring this computer but used to use it quite =
a lot under Win98 until that machine gave it up.

Now, I am needing to work with a document and it isn't working at all =
  well.

I can see the document with the Jaws cursor but nothing with the PC =
cursor. I get a WinBraille printer error which is odd, ultimately Jaws =
throws an error and I loose it and once I kill WordPerfect and get Jaws =
back if I succeed Jaws begins doing funny things, for example using =
ALT-F4 to close a programme and Jaws says "ALT OPEN FILE".

The view is set to Page, Zoom to 75%.

Now I seem to remember something about setting a switch in the shortcut =
or something when I set up WordPerfect on my old dead computer but I =
cannot remember any details now and cannot access anything on the old =
machine, goes back to 1998. Is there something I have to do under XP?=20

I notice too when opening the document I get a message something about =
insufficient memory to create object, this computer has a gig of RAM =
and the file is in the order of 370 K.

  Thanks for any useful information.
  Any advice appreciated.=20
