Sorry to interject this out of order, but I just realized what Dean says
below as he begins his contribution. For those for whom batch files would be
a hassle? I don't see where that's a problem. And not because I used DOS
PC's for more than ten years before migrating, as they say, to Windows, so
that things like batch files are familiar to me. All a batch file is is a
series of nested commands that call each other automatically so you don't
have to invoke them yourself, one by one. But that's not even the point.
Which is, both these approaches to exterminating Jaws (presumably for the
offense of misspeaking and escaping the control of the user, like Hal in the
movie 2001: A Space Odyssey) involve setting something up (an icon, a
shortcut, a hotkey) to invoke one file or another that will cause Jaws to
unload properly. Making them equivalent from the user's position. So I don't
se the distinction, in that sense. Which is okay with me, seeing as how it
turns out that an XP Home user like me doesn't have available that file Dean
refers to, anyway.

It's all been interesting. This is one of those instances where I'd have
given anything for just a single clearly written paragraph explaining the
purpose of Insert Windows key F4, advising that there are times when even it
won't work in the emergencies for which it's (I presume) intended, and
providing a batch file called Kill Bill or Kill Yawawa and explaining how to
set it up.

Ack. I'm laughing only at myself, so don't anybody start ragging on me,
please. This is one of those threads I wish I'd never even noticed and
become curious about. I wasn't having an "issue" with this sort of
situation, anyway. My bad for finally giving in and opening one of the Kill
Jawawa posts.

Sigh.

I haven't found it to be any different than the built in key but, that may
be just me.
I appreciate the built in key though.
