Don't know what you are running for anti-virus, but I run Norton on my XP system and cannot let JAWS start automatically as it occasionally crashes as you have described. It would sometimes require multiple boot attempts to get past this so I finally just gave up and always start JAWS with a shortcut key after startup.

Hi guys, Thanks for all the suggestions and thoughts.Bill, I don't always have someone to read the screen, but will try to get the error read next time, if possible.I did go and uncheck the start Jaws automatically as was suggested.I shutdown the computer, rebooted, and brought Jaws up after reboot, and then checked that box, again.When I rebooted, again, Jaws did load correctly.What concerns me is that the last time I started getting a lot of error messages on my computer, my computer did a major crash and burn.Hopefully, this is just one of those glitches, and nothing truly serious.
