Without knowing anything about Tandum, I would think so.

I would hazard the guess that Centre is useful for avoiding firewalls, as each agent would initiate its own connection through the FS server. Whereas, Direct would be a direct connection from one computer to another, over any IP network, but would require certain ports to be open, and properly forwarded, on the recipients end.

To my knowledge, Direct has not been released yet, so it can't be used
anywhere. I have wondered the same thing, and have not found an answer
to that question.
