Gerald,

Whatever "correct" means, I just tried Zaheer's F4 method together with George's explanation for how to get back out (by tabbing and pressing enter) and it also works. So there are three ways of doing this.

The correct Windows command to access the Address Bar is F6 not F4. An alternate method for obtaining the web address is to move to the top of the web page and press Insert-F1. JAWS will announce the page summary including the page address. Press Escape to close the message.

When you hit f 4 and go to the address bar you can do one of 2 things. Do a control a to select all and then control c to copy, or do a home and shift control right arrow until all is selected and then control c to copy. To go back to the page you are on hit tab and hit enter.

Hi, Zaheer, Once you press F4 to go to the address bar, how do you get JAWS to return to the main content of the web page? I always get stuck in the address bar. And, another question: if you press F4 to go to the address bar because you want to copy the address to paste a link somewhere, how do you do that? Thanks. Alice alicedh@xxxxxxxxxxx

You can also press F4 to move to the address bar.

Hope this helps,

Subject: JAWS will not announce information from the address bar in
Internet Explorer 8

Hi all,

After I have upgraded from Internet Explorer 7 to Internet Explorer
8,
JAWS 10 will not announce the information from the address bar (normaly, I could press the shortcut Insert+A, after which JAWS say the address to the actuel web page). Now, JAWS only say the word address bar!

Have other person on this mailing list heard about this problem before, if yes, it is posible to fix this problem, so JAWS say the address to the actuel web page?

I using Windows XP Service Pack 3, Internet Explorer 8 and the latest version of JAWS 10.

Thanks for the answers.

Regards, Anders
