Gene! I sell a lot of music production software. For example these
days one can get software for their computer that turns it into a piano, a
string orchestra, an organ etc. You connect your special MIDI controller to
your computer and play your instrument. This controller could look like a
piano keyboard, a guitar, a saxophone, drums etc. These software
instruments require special high speed drivers and hardware components not
found with everyday sound cards. The sound cards that these drivers work
with cost as little as $100 and as much as several hundreds of dollars.
Some of these more expensive cards process data so fast that JAWS or Window
Eyes won't even work with them. If you are running this music audio into a
great loud speaker system why not have JAWS or Window Eyes come out the same
system? In my case I'm often working with wireless headphones so I want to
get all audio including the software voices to get to my headphones. I
could do this with an audio mixer but I don't have one available right now
so I have all my sound cards daisy chained together. The audio from one
goes into the next then from there into the next then finally out to the
transmitter for the headphones.
