Hello Daniel and others. Using insert + 4 or the number pad with the alt key are good methods for inserting symbols that are invoked only occasionally. When writing in another language, both these methods are awkward and very time consuming, the first, requiring that one arrow up and down to find the symbol, the second requiring that one know the ascii code for that symbol. Far easier when writing is to add a keyboard for the language. If the foreign language is one of the more common ones in western Europe or South America, this can be easily and quickly done through the control panel without the CD for the operating system. It takes a short time to learn the different keys for accented characters, diacritics and punctuation. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "JFW List" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2005 10:07 AM Subject: Re: JAWS and Spanish > Jennifer, > This relates to the thread that's still being posted about, with the key > command Insert Number Row 4 in the subject line. > > When you're in any application that involves writing, such as Outlook > Express, or Word, or Notepad, press Insert 4 and then arrow up and down > the > list of symbols that appears.
