Perhaps, changing the view to "normal" will help. I have encountered a similar problem on one of my computers and changing the view as stated usually does the trick.

Hi, if only your machine is affected, try doing a repair. If that doesn't work, try doing an uninstall, including shared components, then reinstall. This should solve your problems. I can tell you that I have no known issues using JAWS 9 and Office 2003, including Word and Excel.
