Hi Chris - what was the deal at your university? I work at Southampton University and am wondering if it's a Microsoft deal or something your uni has set up?

All the best,

I would say if you are going to use Pro at work you might as well use Pro at home. At least you can do the same stuff on the work computer than you can at home. In fact, as Windows 7 Pro can host remote desktop sessions and providing your license of JAWS supports this feature, you can log in from your home computer to your work computer and vice versa. Also, if you require XP for proprietary applications or just to assist someone using XP, then again Pro is a good option. I did use Home, but upgraded to Pro as a freebie from university and felt that it's more appropriate for me as a hope to be professional technician. Hope this helps.

I am thinking about getting a new computer for home. If in the future my
workplace upgrades it will be windows 7 pro. I am thinking if I get the
pro version on my home computer I will be able to get experience with it
on my home machine if work up grades, but if there isn't any real
difference I may as well stay with just windows 7. Hope this makes
sense. I am using mostly jaws 10 pro but I do have jaws 11 installed.
Thanks.
