Good Afternoon Brian: I hope what you have pulled will help. However, from what was written in the prior messages there are more problems with Windows Explor. In the past others have had problems with Explorer and were forced to repair Explorer. I would advise going to the Blind Programming for instructions on this procedure if needed.

Here's some general information, if you'll pardon the term, about the information bar. I pulled this from the internet explorer help. Some of it has to do with turning it off which may help you turn it on and some has to do with activex controls. This first part is about turning it off. 1. Open Internet Explorer.2. On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.3. Clear the Show Information Bar when a pop-up is blocked check box. This procedure will allow Web sites to automatically prompt you when downloading files and software (bypassing the Information Bar).list of 4 items 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 3. On the Security tab, click Custom Level. 4. Do one or both of the following: list of 2 items nesting level 1To turn off the Information Bar for file downloads, in the Downloads section of the list, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable. To turn off the Information Bar for ActiveX controls, in the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, under Automatic prompting for ActiveXcontrols, click Enable. list end nesting level 1 On Sun, 7 Jan 2007, Gary Jackson wrote:John, This might sound a bit crazy to you but I think I've seen it before and strangely enough it had to do with a person having the quicktime playerinstalled giving false messages about active X. If you don't use quicktimetry un-installing it first. (08/26/2004) Details of Selected Bulletin Bulletin Type: FAQ Date Posted: 08/26/2004 Product Name: JAWS Version: 5.0 plus Category: Internet Explorer Question:How can I access the Internet Explorer Information Bar introduced in WindowsXP Service Pack 2? Answer:Service Pack 2 for Windows XP adds a new feature to Internet Explorer called the Information Bar. The Information Bar appears below the address bar andprovides information about downloads, blocked pop-up windows, and other activities. This helps you avoid potentially harmful files that you might otherwise download from the Internet. A sound plays when the Information Bar appears. To move to and read the Information Bar, press ALT+N. You can then press the SPACEBAR to open the Information Bar menu. You can press ESC to hide the Information Bar and return to the page you were viewing. These are Windows keyboard shortcuts and are not exclusive to JAWS.For a complete description of the Information Bar, refer to the appropriatesection in the Internet Explorer Help system. ----- Original Message ----- From: John <mailto:stephnjohnny211@xxxxxxxxxx> Ramsey To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 05, 2007 6:29 PM Subject: RE: Information Bar and Active X controlsThat is the problem. the information bar is not there.
