Kimsan, I'm curious. What are you doing with the arrow keys to speak each column? Doesn't work for me that way. BTW I use two hands for these keystrokes, so I don't hurt my fingers much. Wow those keystrokes hurt my fingers!:) I just focus on my file and right arrow and the collumns will be echoed such as: size, length, etc. From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Farfar Carlson Sent: Friday, December 31, 2010 8:46 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: How can JAWS recognize the file size and format automatically? To carry this further, actually depends entirely on how you have your listview set up. In MS-Explorer the view/choose details dialog will let you determine what columns of data to show, and in what order. So Brandon's suggestion of Insert+Ctrl+5 may be correct for his setup but not for others. Mine is set up to show in this order: Insert+Ctrl+1 Name Insert+Ctrl+2 Size Insert+Ctrl+3 Date Modified Insert+Ctrl+4 Title (for media files) Insert+Ctrl+5 Duration (for audio and video files) Insert+Ctrl+6 Date Picture Taken (image files) Insert+Ctrl+7 Dimensions (image files) When you run out of columns you will hear "# out of range" Dave Composed on a Dell Latitude 630 in the general vicinity of my Audio Recording and Mixing Studios, San Francisco Bay Area. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brandon Keith To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, December 31, 2010 08:22 Subject: Re: How can JAWS recognize the file size and format automatically? ctrl+Jaws key+5 shows you size. Hi, if I've understood correctly, in windows explorer set the view to details under the view menu. Then as you move down to a file, you can press left and right arrow keys to move to the various bits of information i.e. file type, size etc. Peter -----Original Message----- From: mostafa almahdy Sent: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 4:24 AM To: jfw Subject: How can JAWS recognize the file size and format automatically? just as it in the subject line -- Best Wishs.
