Hi,

You know, when I installed the update just now, I did supply my email
address (actually it was already in that tab of the install sequence) and
checked that they could send me news via email. I don't know why, but I
never receive any email from them at all, which I presume would include
notifications of updates. So I'll take the extra step of doing what you
suggest. Just to be clear, do you mean to go to winamp.com and subscribe to
an rss feed at that site? Or do you mean something else? Thanks a lot.

hi yardbird
If you go to the page I gave you you can subscribe to the news feed on that
page. It will always have the latest version of win amp posted. It will
be posted on the day of distribution.
hope that helps.

Brandon,

I decided to just give up hassling with that dialogue and download the
update without any more fuss. So thanks for the filehippo link, which is of
course how I obtained the update to install. Everything's working fine. Next

time there's an update released and the same thing happens, I will of course

try to get rid of the notice either as Lois said (Control F4 in Jaws) or
again try Jim's advice to locate a control using the virtual cursor, though
I'm not sure he meant the virtual cursor.

but for now, I'm rescued and updated. And being an updated guy is what's
most important these hse days. So thanks again. :-)

P.S. File hippo. That's amusing. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out
how the image of the hippopotamus associates with file storage or
downloading. If anyone knows the inspiration for this site name, please do
tell.

If you don't wanna menoover around the winamp site, you can download it from
the following url.
http://www.filehippo.com/download_winamp/
